Russia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to mutually waive visas for short trips by citizens of both countries. The visa-free regime takes effect on 11 May 2026 and applies to holders of ordinary international passports. Under the agreement, Russian and Saudi citizens can enter without a visa for tourism, business trips, or private visits to relatives and friends. Stay limits: up to 90 days per trip and no more than 90 days within any 180-day period; multiple entries are allowed within that limit. Entry rules: a passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of a return ticket (may be requested at the border), a hotel booking or address of stay, and travel insurance (recommended, sometimes required by the carrier). Visa-free entry does not grant the right to work, long-term study, or permanent residence. The agreement is expected to boost tourist flows and expand air links between the two countries.
